Ken Takahashi has been active in international tax practice for more than 20 years. In the first 10 years, he was involved in a wide range of projects on the advisory side (at a Dutch tax law firm and a Japanese accounting firm). In the last 10 years, he has served as an in-house tax counsel at global financial institutions, whose stocks are listed on the Tokyo, NY and Singapore stock exchanges, and he has been involved on a daily basis in extremely demanding projects with high trade volumes and high complexities.
He is committed to providing high quality consulting services, taking into account what is relevant and required from a strategic perspective and why a certain solution is needed not only from the advisor's perspective, but also from the taxpayer's perspective, and he is good at providing to-the-point advice very quickly (so as not to miss emerging opportunities) while striking the right balance of tax theory and tax practice.
In recent years, he has been providing tax advice to high-net-worth clients both in Japan and overseas more frequently and has been actively supporting the development and execution of customized tax-efficient asset succession/protection plans leveraging his strong experience and expertise on European tax and cross-border financial transactions.
