Each business entity within the Tokyo Kyodo Accounting Group(hereinafter referred to as “Our Company”) is committed to ensuring that all employees recognize one another as equal professional partners and to maintaining and fostering a healthy and cooperative workplace environment by preventing and promptly addressing power harassment, sexual harassment, and harassment related to pregnancy, childbirth, childcare leave, and other related matters. By publishing this policy on its website, Our Company seeks to demonstrate and raise awareness of its commitment to eliminating harassment.
Definition of Harassment
Harassment is defined in this policy as follows:
- Power Harassment: Words or actions that take advantage of a position of superiority—including relationships between supervisors and subordinates, among colleagues, and situations in which a subordinate has an advantage over a supervisor—and that exceed what is necessary and reasonable in the course of work, thereby harming the workplace environment.
- Sexual Harassment: Subjecting an employee or other individual to unfavorable working conditions because of how they respond to sexual words or actions or harming the workplace environment through such words or actions. This includes conduct directed toward a person of either the same or a different sex, regardless of that person’s sexual orientation or gender identity.
- Harassment Related to Pregnancy, Childbirth, Childcare Leave, and Other Related Matters: Words or actions concerning an employee’s pregnancy, childbirth, or use of childcare leave or other related systems that adversely affect the workplace environment, regardless of the employee’s gender.
Prohibited Conduct
- All employees must remain mindful of their words and actions at all times. Any conduct constituting power harassment, sexual harassment, or harassment related to pregnancy, childbirth, childcare leave, and other related matters is prohibited. Words or actions based on gender role stereotypes are also prohibited, as such stereotypes may cause or contribute to sexual harassment.
- The same types of conduct toward individuals who are not employees of Our Company are also prohibited.
Consultation Desk and Privacy Protection
Our Company has designated a department to receive and address harassment-related consultations and complaints. Our Company will protect the privacy of those who seek consultation and ensure that they are not subjected to any adverse treatment as a result of doing so.
Workplace Arrangements
Our Company will review the allocation of duties and improve the workplace environment so that employees who are pregnant or have given birth, or who have childcare or family caregiving responsibilities, can use the relevant support systems with confidence and balance these responsibilities with their work.
